About Jenny Lewis Animal Wellness
Jenny Lewis Animal Wellness was born out of a deep passion for animal well-being. With a background in animal therapy and rehabilitation, and nearly 20 years industry experience, the aim is to provide the highest quality holistic healthcare for your animal. Our mission is to help every pet live their best life through the use of physical therapy, personalised fitness programs and expert guidance. We believe that physical, mental, and emotional health are equally important for our furry companions, and we are dedicated to helping them thrive.
Since 2009 the learning has never stopped. As part of the professional membership requirements, a minimum of 25 hours of continued professional development must be completed each year, which means your animal is always receiving gold standard treatment based on the most up to date scientific research. This continued learning and thirst for knowledge has led to the addition of numerous techniques to Jenny’s therapeutic toolbox, including low level laser therapy and canine conditioning and fitness, recently leading the business to develop from purely offering animal chiropractic services into providing services for all aspects of your animal’s wellness. In addition to Jenny’s work in clinic, she is also a practical tutor for the McTimoney College of Chiropractic, imparting her wealth of knowledge and experience to help train the animal chiropractors of the future.
Having grown up around horses and dogs, it seemed almost inevitable that Jenny would follow a career in this area. From taking her first ever job as a kennel maid at only 13 years old, she then went on to take various part time equestrian employments that ran alongside school and college. It was clear, even at this young age, that Jenny had a natural affinity and ability with animals, especially horses and dogs.
Jenny graduated in 2005 from Writtle College with a BSc (hons) Animal Science, and in 2008 with an MSc Animal Manipulation completed at the McTimoney College of Chiropractic. Whilst studying for her MSc she was lucky enough to work for Greyfriars Canine Hydrotherapy and Rehabilitation Centre, one of the leading centres for canine rehabilitation in the country. Whilst here Jenny was involved in the conservative management and post operative care of numerous acute and chronic canine musculoskeletal conditions, which gave her invaluable practical knowledge and experience with which to begin her career. In January 2009 she opened her animal chiropractic clinic and this has steadily grown over the years into the busy mobile clinic that exists today.
Jenny is a fully insured member of the McTimoney Animal Association and the Animal Health Professions Register who are responsible for setting and monitoring professional standards within the animal musculoskeletal industry. She is also a registered Canine Conditioning Coach, registered with the Canine Conditioning Academy and holds a certificate in canine first aid.
Jenny is currently based in Andover, Hampshire, treating animals throughout the county as well as into Surrey, Berkshire, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire and Dorset.
